DanSekarski was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1951, the middle child of eight children. He earned a bachelor degree in creative writing from the University of Missouri in 1975: worked for 15 years with children of all ages, for Washington University School of Medicine at Saint Louis Children’s Hospital, supervising the Heart Station which diagnoses and follows-up children with cardiac diseases and malformations. He moved to Switzerland and married in 1992. He has three children of his own, coaches the village soccer school for first time players and helps with kindergarten gym classes. He worked for The United Nations Environmental Program as a creative-writer, writing children’s literature teaching about the environment. He is now a freelance creative-writer of adult and children’s instructional fiction, publishing picture books and calendars for children and adults as well as illustrated books of poetry.
